Perhaps the most common of all surveys, but maybe the most important. A pre-purchase survey is the most comprehensive of all reports.
Usually, this type of survey is performed to satisfy an insurance company’s request for a survey prior to renewing your hull policy.
Gaining popularity, often times an owner will request this survey in order to better prepare the vessel for sale.
If you have an abandoned boat on your property, the State of Ohio recently made it easier for you to get title to the boat.
I provide hourly consulting for customers who may just need some questions answered about a boat or research fair market values. I can meet with you at your boat OR at a boat that you are thinking about purchasing.
Travel costs and your time are valuable. Let me do some legwork for you. I can take digital images and videos to offer you a virtual tour of a vessel you are interested in. Let me be your agent to supervise the progression of a repair or a re-fit project. I can be “Your Eyes” for a variety of situations.
Bryan is very thorough and provides a detailed survey with recommendations. Class act guy!
Mr. Shrock was very thorough, fair and professional in providing his Condition and Value Survey of my boat. He was on time with both our meeting and his work and provided me additional good counsel for on-going maintenance, safety and repairs.
My involvement with Bryan Shrock was a 5-star experience. Bryan was very professional, timely and extremely thorough. The pre-purchase survey included everything we needed to know about our new boat. It is very in-depth and includes multiple and various pictures. He joined us on the sea trial and was very helpful and patient while answering all of our questions. His knowledge of boating and boats in general is obviously vast. I would recommend Bryan Shrock Marine Surveying to anyone.
Edit! Bryan has now done a third survey for us. The second survey he traveled two hours down to Delaware Ohio to survey a 25’ Cuddy. Same meticulous work as the first! He has since traveled to Grand Haven Michigan to survey a MY for us! Hire the best the first time! Bryan did very lengthy two day survey on our 36 Mainship. The Condition and Value survey we received was very through and professionally presented. It was money well spent and I would recommend him to anyone!
Bryan is a true professional. He was thorough and very helpful throughout the whole process. I highly recommend him.
I was at a great advantage when I was recently in need of a surveyor, because I knew Bryan back when worked for his dad at Shrock's Marina, a marina I docked at back in the 90's and early 2000. Bryon grew up around boats and was taught by one of the best, his father, Al Shrock. Bryan repaired, painted, and piloted boats - He knows boats. So I was confident and comforted in knowing my new potential boat, a 35' Tiara was going to be inspected by a person with great knowledge brought by years of experience. Bryan did not disappoint, the survey , sea trial, and then the final report with pictures was very professional, as expected. It was great seeing Bryan again and great to hear his mom and dad are doing well.
Bryan is great to work with, really good communication and response getting the survey done, and a very detailed report. Great job, Thanks again.
Very easy to work with very detailed report. Would use again
Bryan did a great job with the marine survey and the report he prepared, The survey and information provided was very complete and detail. I recommend Bryan or any of your marine survey needs.
Perhaps the most common of all surveys, but maybe the most important. A pre-purchase survey is the most comprehensive of all reports. I will address and inspect all systems and areas of a vessel that are accessible to me. I will comment on structural, mechanical, safety, appearance, amenities and market value. You will want this survey to include an out-of-water inspection and often times, I will ride along with you on a sea trial. The PDF document I produce will allow you to make informed decisions about whether to purchase, selling price, financing and insurance.
Usually, this type of survey is performed to satisfy an insurance company’s request for a survey prior to renewing your hull policy. This survey focuses on safety, structural, some mechanical and overall seaworthiness. It is not as comprehensive as a pre-purchase survey. It may or may not require an out-of-water inspection, depending on your insurance company’s wishes.
Gaining popularity, often times an owner will request this survey in order to better prepare the vessel for sale. It can range from an hour or two of consulting to a comprehensive inspection similar to a pre-purchase survey.
If you have an abandoned boat on your property, the State of Ohio recently made it easier for you to get title to the boat. One of the conditions is that the boat be surveyed to determine that it’s worth less than $10,000. I can provide you with an affordable inspection and document to fulfil that condition.
